Expect the unexpected

English	Czech
What would you tell yourself on day one?	Co byste si ȓekli první den v DLA Piper?
Expect the unexpected.	Očekávají neočekávane.
Since DLA Piper was my first experience of the legal profession, I was worried that I’d have to change too much and adapt to the environment to fit in. And now, looking back, I know I didn’t have to change at all.
As for the three years you’re planning to stay, definitely forget it. It’s going to be a much longer and more interesting marketing mission. Bude to mnohem delší a zajímavější marketingová mise.

Ask questions and enjoy the experience

English	Czech
Don’t worry so much, ask about everything and enjoy it.
Don’t be afraid to ask, nobody expects you to know everything straight away, on your very first day.	Neboj se ptát. Nikdo neočekává, že budeš vědět všechno hned a hnedka první den.
I’d tell myself: Above all, don’t be shy, ask questions and take an interest.
That it’s going to be a surprisingly long ride.	Že to bude překvapivě dlouhá jízda.
Don’t worry, you made the right decision and over the years that decision has only been confirmed.
